Vespers of the Blessed Virgin Mary

(Vespro Della Beata Vegine - 1610)

(Incomplete)

Notes:  (1) Many modern editions of  Monteverdi's Vespers exist with varied contents.  Providing accurate modern editions is difficult due to the ambiguities of early 17th-century notation. These files are based on the Oxford Choral Works Edition.   (2) Two Magnificats appear at the end.  Typically only one is performed.  Additionally three movements are sequenced in an alternative lower key.  Due to the number of possibilities in which this work can be performed, a choral learning CD has not been produced.
